Terms of Use
Plain-English summary
Aussie AI Artists is a private creator community and publishing platform. Use only material you have the right to use, disclose AI involvement honestly, credit collaborators, do not impersonate people or steal other creators’ work, and treat members respectfully. We may review, reject, hide or remove profiles, certification, works, posts or accounts when reasonably necessary.
About the platform
These Terms apply to aussieaiartists.com and the connected member hub operated under the name Aussie AI Artists. The platform supports Australian creators using artificial intelligence in music, video, visual art, writing, games and related creative work. It is not a government body, statutory authority, copyright registry, collecting society, union, legal service or regulator.
Age and eligibility
You must be at least 16 to create an account. You must be at least 18 to use private messaging, submit public video content, apply for certification or use creator collaboration tools. The service is intended primarily for Australian creators and supporters. We may request reasonable evidence of Australian connection, identity, age, creative activity or authority to represent a project.
Accounts and access
Google authentication may be used. Keep your account secure and use it only for yourself. Signing in creates a basic account only. Community, Artist, Moderator and Admin access is granted separately. Access can be limited or removed to protect users, rights holders, the platform or the community.
Community Artist profiles
An approved public profile may be listed as a Community Artist profile before certification. This means the profile has passed basic publication review; it does not mean the artist, identity, legal rights, claims, training data or every published work has been independently verified.
Certification
“Certified Aussie AI Artist” is a private membership and standards designation issued by Aussie AI Artists after a review process. It is not government accreditation, a professional licence, a guarantee of artistic quality, a copyright registration, or a legal determination that any work is non-infringing. Certification may consider Australian connection, a genuine body of public creative work, meaningful human creative direction, AI disclosure, rights and licensing practices, attribution, conduct and compliance with community standards.
Certification may be declined, suspended or removed if information is false or incomplete, work is deceptively impersonative, rights are not held, conduct breaches these Terms, or the creator no longer meets the published standard. Certification decisions are made in good faith but remain discretionary.
Submitted works and release review
All member works and releases submitted for public publication require administrator approval. Review checks platform suitability and obvious compliance concerns only. Approval does not transfer ownership, guarantee copyright, endorse every claim, or make Aussie AI Artists responsible for the work. You remain responsible for all music, samples, lyrics, performances, voices, images, video, prompts, datasets, models, trademarks, names and other material you use.
Responsible AI use
You must not knowingly submit plagiarised material, unlicensed copies, deceptive voice or identity impersonations, misleading claims of human performance, or material designed to pass another creator’s work off as your own. You must provide meaningful and accurate disclosure of AI involvement when requested. Training, fine-tuning or reference material must be used lawfully and in accordance with applicable licences and permissions.
Your content and licence to operate the site
You keep ownership of content you provide. By submitting or publishing content, you grant Aussie AI Artists a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, process, resize, create technical previews or thumbnails, display, embed, link to, archive and promote that content for operation of the platform, member discovery, association history and reasonable promotion. This licence ends when content is removed, except for backups, audit records, lawful retention, previously published promotional material and legitimate archival records.
Copyright and Australian law
Copyright in Australia is governed principally by the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth). Copyright protection is generally automatic and there is no official Australian copyright registration system. Nothing on this platform is legal advice. Members should obtain independent advice where ownership, licensing, moral rights, performers’ rights, defamation, privacy, trade marks or commercial use is uncertain.
Prohibited conduct
Do not harass, threaten, stalk or abuse others; publish hateful or discriminatory material; exploit or sexualise minors; publish illegal or severely harmful content; infringe copyright, moral rights, trade marks, privacy or publicity rights; impersonate others; publish private information without authority; upload malware; spam; scrape or attack the service; manipulate exposure; make false certification claims; or use the platform to mislead consumers or the public.
News, opinion and external links
News posts may include commentary, summaries and links to third-party sources. Views expressed by authors or members are not necessarily official association positions. External sites are responsible for their own content, terms and privacy practices.
Sponsors
Sponsorships and paid relationships should be identified clearly. Sponsor placement does not give a sponsor control over certification decisions, member moderation or editorial positions unless explicitly disclosed.
Moderation and removal
We may request changes, reject submissions, hide or archive content, restrict features, suspend certification, preserve evidence or close accounts where reasonably necessary. We may cooperate with lawful requests and Australian regulators, courts or law-enforcement agencies.
Consumer law and representations
Nothing in these Terms excludes rights that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Users must not make false or misleading claims about certification, association endorsement, ownership, licensing, sponsorship, results or services.
Liability
The platform is provided on an “as available” basis. To the extent permitted by law, Aussie AI Artists is not liable for third-party platforms, member content, lost opportunities, service interruptions, external links, copyright disputes or reliance on member claims. Any liability that cannot be excluded is limited only as permitted by Australian law.
Changes and contact
These Terms may be updated as the community, platform and Australian regulatory environment develop. Material changes will be posted on the site. Use the contact page for legal, rights, certification or account questions.
